Custom WordPress Recruitment Platform
I modernised Eyedeal Careers by delivering a scalable recruitment platform with custom job listings, user accounts, and streamlined application workflows. This project was completed with the Argon team.
The Brief
The existing website had become dated and restrictive, both visually and technically. Core workflows, such as job submissions, applications, and account management—were fragmented, manual, or reliant on administrative intervention.
Eyedeal Careers needed a solution that would:

The Solution
My role was to design and build a custom recruitment platform using WordPress, focusing on reliability, usability, and long-term maintainability, while deliberately avoiding plugin bloat.
Key responsibilities included:
- Building a custom homepage and information architecture
- Implementing role-based user accounts for Job Seekers and Employers
- Creating a fully custom job listing and application workflow
- Integrating Stripe payments and offline bank transfer handling
- Automating notifications, approvals, and listing lifecycles
- Ensuring the system was secure, scalable, and admin-friendly
The solution was built primarily with WordPress, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and Gravity Forms, using custom logic and integrations to handle complex workflows with minimal third-party plugins.
The Results
The finished platform delivers a complete, end-to-end recruitment system tailored specifically to the eye care industry.

- Self-managed accounts for both Job Seekers and Employers
- A secure online application system with auto-populated profiles and resumes
- Paid job listings with admin approval, automatic start/end dates, and expiry handling
- Flexible payment options (Stripe or direct bank transfer)
- Filterable, real-time job listings by location and job type
- Automated email notifications for applications, approvals, and filled roles
- Reduced administrative overhead through streamlined workflows
- A scalable foundation capable of supporting future growth and feature expansion
